The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced that it will award $16.3 million in grants for 290 humanities projects and programs this summer. “The humanities help us study our past, understand our present, and prepare for our future,” said NEH Chairman William D. Adams. “The National Endowment for the Humanities is proud to support projects that will benefit all Americans and remind us of our shared human experience.”

Institutions, scholars, and humanities organizations in 43 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico will receive NEH support. Fifty-two AASLH members were among the grant winners, and their total grants amount to over $2 million dollars. We congratulate them all on the hard work that led to these awards, and look forward to seeing the results of their endeavors.
